Got my first, a 1911A1 Remington Rand contract gun, passed down to me by my grandfather at 16. I currently own several, with my daily carry weapon being a Kimber CDP Pro. I turn 33 in a few weeks.

Default 45

45 years old and holding. I guess I was 12 the first time I wrapped my hand around a 1911 (Colt 1911 U.S. Army which I still have). My dad took me shooting in the woods, our targets were cans that we put over the ends of limbs. Recoil was bad and the noise was painful (who knew about ear protection?) I remember that day well. It's funny the details we sometimes remember.

49 here with a Kimber I will NEVER sell. Have had several in the past 10 years. Now down to one. Tried the 3" versions and finally woke up. Full size for me.

I'm 53 years young. Got my Kimber Custom II in October 2006. Just put some sweet Ahrends cocobolo smooth grips on the blued 45. This was my first 1911. I started with a SIG P220 in 45 cal in 1988. Made in West Germany. Got me a Glock 30 in mid 90s and finally bought into Colonel Cooper's teachings. 1911s and 45 ACP rock. CC in a Wild Bill's Speed Scabbard.

I'm 51 and had one for 11 years. I first carried one in the Army. Best pistol ever.

I'll be 45 in April. I've had my Colt Combat Commander for a little over 20 years now.

About 189 years old when I wake up and still averages out at 65+ during even at the best of times. Sheesh mummy, where did it all go !! Guess you can't beat nature .... or JB's designs. I've owned / shot / and still have 1911's after 45 years. Guess what, my only other pistol nowadays is a (John) Browning Hi Power that's a really beat up old piece like me. We still work reliably when called upon though

Plastic is good too of course ... heck it must be 'cos you can't use anything made from real gun materials in a microwave
