Default Any TRP guys on here?

I picked up my Springfield TRP in early December, absolutely love it! I do have a couple questions for you guys who may have one.

First off, I put some new grips from VZ Grips on it. I went with the slant grips in predator green. I'm considering a couple more mods some of you may have experience or opinions on.

I'm considering changing out the full-length guide rod. I'm just not a big fan of needing a tool to break my weapon down. The way I see it is you never know if you'll need to break it down and won't have a tool on hand. Anyone have recommendations on some standard length rods, new recoil spring, and barrel plug?

Lastly, I figure I can't get away with posting about the gun and not putting a pic or two. So here goes...imageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1391459200.851898.jpg

When I get into a top-flight 1911, this will probably be my choice. Love the TRP! And in general, I'm a big fan of most SA products (XDm, M1A).

Maybe it won't quite be on the level with an Ed Brown, Wilson, Nighthawk, Volkmann, etc...but it'll at least be in the ballpark, and for half the price. And honestly, that's more than enough to maximize its potential in my hands.

From what I've seen, I'd also mention some Dan Wesson products as being in a similar class at $1200-1800 price point of a TRP.

I haven't seen a need or had any desire to put a full length guide rod on a well fitted 1911. The TRP pretty much comes outfited the way I like a 1911. Grips being a personal preference, that is about the only thing I would change on a TRP.
