Default American Made Custom 1911s

Two of my 1911s. Rock River Arms (Top) Colt Commander Custom (Bottom)
The Rock River 1911 was the test gun for Shooting Times in 2003. Shot a 1 inch group from 50 yards from the Ransom Rest at the test. I had it Black T'd in 2008.

Rock River made a hell of a nice 1911 - shame they got out of the business. I've seen & held one - didn't get to shoot it though...

NGIB,

You are right! The issue became they were too labor intensive. I have been there when they hand fit, tested, fit some more until they got each pistol correct and it would meet the accuracy and function guarantee. Some would go to the outdoor range as many a 10 times while they were precision tuning the pistol. I do not know if they have any left over. I was told they were privately finishing the build as late as the end of last year. Sometimes they advised they had a cancellation for what ever reason after the pistol was in process. Of course they would go ahead and finish it. And someone would want the pistol. If anyone would want to check to see if they still have any. Chuck is the contact he ran the pistol shop. He is the VP also.

Brother in-law of the sister in-law works there. I'll ask him at the next family get together.
