American made 1911

I'd like to get a 1911 for around $1k or less.

I'm really looking hard at the kimber, but there are so many different models of even that brand.

I do know kimber's are made in the U.S. and I like that. I want a U.S. made 1911.

Which other 1911's are made in the U.S.?

My friend just put a Taurus 1911 on lay away. When he gets it out I'm going to help him break it in.
I like the looks of it, but I heard their customer service is terrible...and they're not made in the U.S.

No, not all of my firearms are made in the U.S. either, lol.

I just bought the Smith and Wesson 1911.(see avatar) I was also wanting a US company. I checked into Colt as well as Springfield. I really liked the looks of the Springfield.
I got the Smith because it was on the California approved list and available. The most popular models of all manufactureres are in short supply.

In that price range, with that criteria, the best choice is going to be a Kimber. Probably a Custom Target or a Custom Target II and some cash left over for a box of shells.

You & me both...:D
I'm wanting to use mine for competition events.
I just want to say be careful with Springfield Armory,
great guns, but I've noticed the newer ones are being made in Brazil. :(

IMO; if you're going to own a 1911 it has to be "Made In U.S.A."
1911's are an American Legend, Man!!...just the history alone. :)

Good luck on your quest. ;)
