I'd do it...

I did all the work using that brass hammer, a center punch and a small chisel.

To improve your purchase even more take a look at the VZ Operators II Grips. VZ Grips - 1911

Mine are the slim mag-well in Hyena Brown G10.
That Commander is amazing

Going to be great I know it, I liked it the way it was. I just could not do it. But then again I don't have the talent or the patience to do it right.

It's not difficult, just very time consuming and tedious. Make an outline of the area that you want the stippling done in. Then take your punch and place it inside the area you outlined. Strike once with hammer. Then move your punch just slightly and strike again. Rinse and repeat until the outlined area is full of "punches".

Olympus, you keep showing pictures of your pistols and grips, you can hijack any thread of mine, anytime!

Cane, after seeing that i tried a very small area, and as much as i like how yours looks, mine didn't turn out near as nice, so i just filed it back down and will try something else instead. thanky you for sharing that though. and i am giving some thought to the VZ Grips as well.

Kycol, sometimes you just got to jump into the deep-end and try some out. much better a budget 1911 to try out with instead of a beautiful Colt 1911! i would rather make mistakes on this vs. a really nice Colt!

Vincent, Olympus does do a good hijacking doesn't he? he does do some awesome work! and yes Dave is going to get to make a very special holster for this pistol! he does fantastic work with leather!

and thanks to everyone for the kind words as they are very encouraging and will keep me motivated! thanks again.
