After reading reviews, the only downside I can see to the Para GI expert is the crappy finish. It's sprayed on or something. It rubs off when you holster it alot. Also the GI expert has a factory plastic trigger.

As for the Remington 1911 R1, I first witnessed it in my Maxim magazine, it was being used by veterans in the Maximum Warrior competition.

It's a gorgeous gun, but is it really worth the extra 100 smackaroos? I mean, I trust you Canebreak, you are definitely the "go-to" guy for 1911's, but I gotta have some money left over for ammo.

IMO, If you are going to buy a 1911a1, always buy the best you can afford. $100.00 is not much for the difference in quality. (take a look at Ed Brown's at $2545.00, but the quality is there and can be felt in just racking the slide)
