Itchytrigger - allow me to jump in.
1. Every handle here will provide a little insight on the owner. With yours as "Itchytrigger", you give the impression that you will go off at a little kidding. (and so far, you have not failed that observation).
2. Experience comes with age. I provided you access to a world of knowledge that very few have taken advantage of. Those that have taken advantage have learned that customizing your dream 1911 is no easy task. It is not cheap. And, the last time I looked, Hogue grips are not on the top aesthetically or expense wise. Be proud of you work and don't be cheap.
3. The guys here have told you about having a thick skin. This is a way of their teaching and if you don't accept it, you will lose what is offered.

Itchytrigger, this forum is about sharing knowledge and information and helping those new to firearms gain a better understanding of firearms. you started this thread wanting advice. well here's it in a nutshell. advice around here is free and you are not obliged to take it if it doesn't fit or suit your needs or wants. but how you respond back about that advice when it's freely given says a lot of your attitude and character. your attitude towards Canebrake's reply was very piss poor and i wasn't the only one who saw that. with some of your remarks, you have probably pissed off a few here that you could have learned quite a bit about 1911's from. sadly to say, they probably won't type one word in offering you any suggestions, advice or heplful tips to save you time and possibly money. you son, have probably lost a fortune in knowledge that you will have to either pay to learn or find elsewhere than here.

some say you should learn to have a thicker skin. this is true if you expect to survive on this forum and had you stopped over in the Introductions section and told us a little about yourself and learned some of the in's and out's of our forum you would have known that. but seriously, you might want to check your attitude befre posting here and temper your remarks, or your stay here could be short and not so sweet. have nice day.

Although i have been wondering how those were made........is the skin wrapped around low profile grips, if so hows the fit to the frame? Or is it just adhered to the outside of the grip and not wrapped around em? :curious isnt it?

i think they are sealed on to the grips. snakeskin if not done properly can be very delicate. might ask Cane or Sarge about them. Sarge43 IIRC. sarge does lots of 1911 grips in many different materials and uses snakeskin as well. i think that's where Cane got his from. Sarge is the one that started the 1911 grips thread.
