Advice/Comments on new gun
1 Attachment(s)
New to the world of sport shooting. Recently purchased the sig nightmare 1911. Have probably 250 rounds through it at this point of varying ammo (230 ball ammo, 200 hollow points, and some 185 +p). All flawlessly. Any suggestions or recommendations?Or run it as is?

Not sure what you're asking suggestions or recommendations for.

Thoughts or personal experience with sigs 1911 line or any suggested improvements on it I should get done. Like I said, brand new to all of this, so anything is appreciated.

Put it in a Versa Max 2, attach to belt. That was just about all the aftermarket work that went into my recent SR1911...should also work for the Sig.

Correction, the full list at this point is:
Polished the feed ramp and internals
Adjusted bend on sear spring slightly
Tested trigger on gauge: 4.0lbs.
Fired 500 rounds for break-in
Cleaned and re-lubed, oil here grease there as needed.
Built VM2-style holster, attached to belt.
Already had spare mags and mag carrier.

If you fire that many rounds and it works with your intended carry round, why mess with it? Ain't broke, don't fix it.

What I would do is shoot the snot out of it and fix any problems as they occur.
Polishing a feed ramp without needing it is voiding warranty and is probably not needed (250 already through it flawlessly)

It sounds like you've got a perfectly functioning pistol. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

And asking for opinions on something after you've already bought it is kind backwards. It's yours now, no matter what we have to say about Sig 1911s. :) The good news is that most of us around here think pretty highly of the Sig 1911. I don't have one myself, but my brother has 2 and my FIL has 1 and I've spent a good deal shooting them and I wouldn't blink an eye about buying one for myself.

Find some gold grips for it.

It was kind of an impulse buy, understanding the error in my ways, but I have a relative that works for sig here in NH. so I didn't break the bank on it ($640 for gun, holster and a 3rd mag)

No! Lol, employees get a smoking deal on their products, so I didn't think I could loose even if I hated it. Which I absolutely do not!
