.460 Rowland in Super Hawg

I have the everything for a Para-Ordnance single stack Super Hawg (except the barrel).

Seeing that I have to get another 6" barrel, what is your opinion about changing it to the .460 Rowland?

I'm no pro or expert, but the 460 Rowland turns me on. That's a lot of power, I would check the website first. I don't remember if they did a para conversion. I know they did colt, SA, Glock, and SA XD. Paras makes awesome pistols, but I think the para feed ramp might be an issue, unless it's an older model with regular 1911 feed ramp.

The supported chamber is not the problem. Clark and Para use the same cut.
My concern is that every .460 has a comp. The Super Hawg is a 6" without a comp. Is the comp really necessary on a 6" barrel?

I think it might be necessary to release some of the gas pressure. I had read about the 45 super in 1911. I read that it broke a Colt, SA, and S&W, and none of them were compensated. A little while later I read about a SA long slide in 45 super that took the punishment, but it still wore parts out prematurely. I would run it as recommended, just for the sake of safety. I love shooting and feeling power rounds, but safety first. I don't know you personally, but I'd hate to hear about somebody hurting or killing themselves if it's avoidable.
