I agree with those who like the 230gr +P and personally I use Speer Gold Dot ammo. The only variance is when I CC my Kimber Ultra CDP with a 3" barrel. The +P round could be too much for this gun so why take the chance of having it blow up in my hand.

I have always carried the Remington Golden Saber in 230gr. I've recently carried the Hornady Zombie Defense with good results/no issues.

This is an OLD thread, Argyle. However, I never noticed jackg's odd statement about his Kimber Ultra possibly blowing up in his hand. A Kimber Ultra is NOT going to blow up in your hand because of a +p round. I don't see any reason to use such a hot round in a Defender-size 1911, but it sure ain't gonna explode your fine pistol.

Okay, maybe this thread ought to go back to sleep.
