Thank you so much all. I finally got my 1911 loaded parkerized. I field stripped it and put on a GI style stainless steel cap and so much more reasonable with it. Still have not shot it yet. Purchased PMC Bronze FMJ 230g. Is this a good brand for my first break in? Also I oiled it up nicely everyday not too much. But never " Lubed " it. Must I do so? And the slide is SOOO TIGHT! is that a good thing?

The PMC is fine. Just run FMJ through it at first.

BTW, I use Tetragrease on the slides of my autos. You may want to run the pistol "wet" for the break in period. You'll get some oil on you, but it will lubricate the parts well so they "mate" together.

FYI, you can oil the Parkerized finish and it will help preserve the finish.
