The $350 1911 at CDNN? Who makes it?

Like the title says, CDNN has some "1911-A1 45ACP 70 series" for $350. I know it is pretty basic looking, but it isn't ugly. It looks like what i would want to have in a 1911, basic with a 5" barrel.

Who makes them? Is it an RIA, like from the Phillipines? Anybody know?

I saw it too. There's no mention of the manufacturer that I can see. Call 'em.

Just to take an semi-educated guess, I would say Phillipines.

Interweb survey says Turkish made & not great quality control. :(

Oh well, it was a good thought and the price was certainly right.

I have not heard too much on the Turkish 1911's. It would be interesting to see how they compare to RIA.

So, are you getting one?

I'm sure it's a regent and for the money it is a good buy.

No, I haven't heard anything good in my e-searching. I will wait for something a bit better. I'm curious about the American Classic II by Bersa; i was more than satisfied with the quality of their Thunder .380.

From my reading it seems that bargain 1911 hunters are left to choose from Brazilian (Springfield/IMBEL) or Phillipino (RIA +) pistols. I wasn't just thrilled with the feel of my nephew's Springfield, but i haven't gotten to shoot it yet.

Honestly, i'm in no huge rush to grab a 1911, but i do want one when i can find a good value. The only real advantage i see over my XD45 is concealability (haven't tried the 1911 trigger), and i don't hold a permit yet.

Good pistols for the money. I own 2.
