Finally they came to their senses. I definately will try my best to get the Model III. I wonder what its gonna cost. Also, I wonder what the exact copy percentage is, not counting the 1911-2011 rolemark?
If you bought the model III, and had some extra change, would you buy the gussied up model II? __________________ كافر-INFIDEL

They are only making 750 of them and I'd bet they are all spoken for. __________________ .

I have been scrutinizing the print for a price and this is the first hint I have come across.
From the Shooting Wire, " …1911-2011 commemorative model from Colt that's modeled on their 1918 retro model (about $1300 MSRP)..."
At that price, and not being a limited edition, they may go for less than $1K later next year. I don't plan on being one of the first in line for this even if it is a very close "Canebrake Centennial 1911!"
The 'Force' is strong but X2 what I paid for the R1, its not enough to bring me over. __________________ .

The ANVII looks like a sad joke. The gold paint (inlay?) looks silly on a military commemorative. Likewise, where are the double diamond grips? Unimpressed with the bluing job also. What's with the rounded edges? Is that a 1911A1 rear sight on the 1911 mock-up?
Colt sure has changed. I liked the 1960s vintage WWI commemoratives much more than this 50 year later wanna-be. The VIII is a little better, but only a little. Why'd they add extra words to 1911 - 2001? Did they think we would mistake it for a genuine 1911?
Hmmm, wonder it is as accurate as one of my genuine 1911s? |

Well, this was my thread and I had a TON of high hopes for the 1911 houses to give us something truly special.
Instead.
What did I get?
Like 67 posts from Cane and his friggin Colt all over the place. *severe disappointment frownie*
So, you know what - I am going to throw this out there.
Retro 1911s from D&L Sports
Now those are some sexy ass RETRO 1911's that could definitely pass for 2011 Centennials.
