I know something about pimping out a 1911 with all the cool looking new functionality bullcrap (because I'm doing it to my Taurus 1911) but I think if its a 100 year commemorative like the 1911 it needs to be just like the first pistol put into production. The Kimber commemorative just makes me want to cry for the poor fools that will shell out for it because of the charcoal bluing and ivory grips and what-not. I'd really like to see the un-cut, un-bevelled, spur hammer, and all the other decent original features of the first 1911 on the 100 year anniversary that a middle class American can afford.
And for God's sake can we stay away fromt he unsightly engravings and extra long text and have the original font of the 1911 with the short and to the point like it was back in the day?
As for what company gets the commision to do the project, I dont much care, but I have the leanings toward Colt because of them being one of the first companies to have the license to use the design, but that's not to say any company cant make one, as long as it has good original craftman ship. |

Looks good, but the finish (to me) does not look like a true blue. It kinda looks like a spray paint job. __________________ Murphy's law has not be repealed.

I wasn't gonna say it.

It stereotypically expresses the owner's excess with its baroque pretense." |
