First there was Bruce Willis firing at least 20 rnds from each of his 1911s w/o reloading in "Last Man Standing";.......then, picking out a movie from your lists:

James Caan's "Thief" showing a closeup of a beautiful 6" bbl 1911 in the last 10 minutes of the movie as Caan searches the house of a bad guy who cheats him out of his money.

About 45 seconds later, in the same house, same hunting the bad guy scene, his 1911 changes into a 5".

I agree with you but he actually did reload, a lot. Just not enough.
Usually they don't show them EVER reloading.
Love that show BTW.

They've done Guns & Ammo or Handgunner articles of his 1911's and prowess with them, so I would say ALL his movies would be accurate.

BTW, great lists.

Default Cohen and Tate

Roy Scheider plays a hit man with a black 1911, and uses it quite a bit in the film. Nice looking gun.

There's a few scenes in which the 1911s are featured in Dr. Strangelove(as a part of the survival kit, though I through Vietnam, weren't aircrews issued a 38?)
And I had and lost another reference dangit.

Air Force used .38 revolvers but the Army Air Corps stuck with the standard Army officer sidearm, which was the .45 Colt 1911 A1 during WWII.

Those here are too young. We had movies back in the 50's that often displayed a 1911. Pete Kelly's Blues with Jack Webb was one of them.
