I have owned a few 1911's. I used to have a Kimber Ultra CDP. Which after 250 rounds was a flawless performer. I still have a Wilson Combat CQB Commander, that shoots great but does not carry very well for me. I just bought a SA EMP 40, which leads to my question.

I was interested in another compact or "ultra" sized 1911. Obviously the WC Sentinel and CQB Compact were on the list. $3000+ Wow!!! I paid half that for my old CQB. I know they are "prettier" now than my green CQB. But, why do they cost so much more than Kimber, Springfield, Colt, etc? I am sure they require a break in, just like other tight 1911's.

I can actually afford high quality. But, I would like to justify the difference in cost.
