United Autoworkers Union.

The fact is that union or non-union there are employees of any business who show passion and pride in their work and others that don't. I'm sure there are many where you work.

You just hope that the one you buy was made by someone who gives a damn.

If you look hard enough you can find bad examples of any brand.

Politics aside, of course Colt is a name. Just like Rolex is a name. Rolex is not the most exotic watch, and any ol' digital watch can beat a Rolex Daytona in accuracy. But the name carries clout. They are sought after, they have a history, and keep their value.

I have a couple of Colts and like them a lot but mine are of newer manufacture dates. They are tight fitting and far from the rattley 1911's you hear of from some of the 80's Colts that people cringe over.

Given the trigger is just barely clunkier than my STI. But it breaks clean.

Kimber is a fine 1911 but it's not going to have that cachet of a well taken care of Colt if you're handing it down as an heirloom...in my own opinion of course.

+1 on a Kimber Tactical with match barrel and trigger.

United Autoworkers Union. The same bunch of moochers that bankrupted GM. Not saying stay away from Colt, just don't go cheap.

EDIT: Didn't notice it was already answered. Eh, two confirming opinions I guess.

I just love a S&W 1911. Well made, and the best CS in the business.
