I have yet to put any rounds through mine. I had better feed her this next weekend coming before I get accused of neglecting her.

I love my new Springfield Armory Stainless 1911 A-1. I put new VZgrips on it and put the wood grips in storage, but it is one sweet shooting weapon!

My father-in-law has that exact same piece. And was the first 1911 I shot. Fell in love instantly.

Just got done cleaning mine after a range trip with downsouth. It performed flawlessly, as I've already come to expect. Only about 250 rounds so far, no hiccups at all. I'm so stoked that a springer mil spec apparently doesn't need a break in like some guns that cost twice as much.

Need to get that round count up a little higher though...story of my life, never enough ammo.

Ever try Magtech ammo? It performs well in my .40 cal. and 9mm. Not too expensive either.

I just got done using tulammo, the stuff that everyone says will wreck a 1911. I partly just wanted to see of it would eat it. It actually seemed to b burn cleaner than the federal I used last time.

picked up my first 1911 last week -- a 45 Colt Defender. Took it to the range for the first time yesterday and was very satisfied with it. I was a little concerned because I have been reading a lot of negative reviews about malfunctions, recoil, and ejections to the forehead. I fired 200 rounds -- all 230 gr and about 50 JHPs. Got an FTF on the third round but the other 199 worked perfect. When I was point shooting I did see some brass go directly over my head but I'm not worried about it. In addition, I don't think the recoil was bad at all. Not any more than my 4" XD. All-in-all I'm very pleased with it. The Defender has now become my main ccw.

I just put 100 rounds through my new 1911 mil-spec today. She took them flawlessly. Minimal hammer bite. Though still present. I just love this gun.
