1911a1
Hey guys, im new on the forum, and I wanted to know: whats a good 1911A1 (WWII) model that is not very expensive?
|
Lots of answers and opinions about that. I like my Taurus PT1911 - there are a lot of Taurus haters around though. Never had any issues with mine. Kimber has a lot of followers - I have fired them and like them but for price I think you can get better deals. Colt and Springfield both make great ones - plus they are kind synonymous with 1911's. Looking at a full-sized?

check out Rock Island and High Standard

for a 1911 on a budget, hard to not like the RIA or the American Classic. both are well made and fit and finish are good, decently accurate and very reliable. all that and at a decent price.

YA CAN'T BEAT THE PT1911

Another vote for a Rock Island. A great gun for the money.

None of the above seem to look like WWII models other than the Rock Island and High Standard in basic form. The Springfield Armory GI model was pretty close. REmington makes a basic model that is similar to a WWII model. The Taurus and Ruger models have some bells and whistles that you would not see on a WWII pistol.

The one in my avatar is the base model RIA. Good gun for the money. Mine has since been traded for a SA Loaded.
