1911 trigger question.

Just purchased the Ruger 1911 yesteday. I was messing around and I dry fired it a few times and was wondering if the trigger pull is supposed to be that light? Compared to my Glock the trigger pull had no travel at all. I know I can't compare two guns to eachother, but damn that is a super short trigger pull. I tried looking on the internet and all I could find is people saying 4-10 pound pull!?! It feels like 2 pounds to me. Hopefuuly someone can tell me something, THANKS.

The trigger action on the 1911 is like no other thats what makes it so fast, accurate and special, regardless of how good some might think that the glock trigger is, there is really no comparison. I think you have found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

shoot safe, shoot straight, and have fun

Thanks. The trigger is so short I was just wondering. Like I said I looked on the internet and some people said it was heavy!! Really no way is it heavy.

I believe that the average trigger weight on your trigger is 5 pound, after you shoot a 1911 for a while you won't want to shoot anything else you'll be hooked and will understand the addiction, welcome to the light.

The glock trigger is sloppy compared to the trigger on a 1911.

I feel that the only other trigger that is comparable to the 1911 trigger the the SAA Colt Peacemaker trigger, the best trigger action from any other pistol will only feel as good as a bad 1911 trigger if that.

another point is the 1911 is a single action semi auto and with the safeties they have, you can get away with a lighter and shorter trigger pull.

I just can't wait to shoot it!!! It's just sitting there looking pretty.:)

I think what he is asking, and something I would like to know, is how far is the actual trigger pull. To me my Colt feels like a 1/8-1/4 inch. The Beretta's I use at work feel like 1/2-3/4". Ive never even allowed myself to touch or handle a Glock, so I dont have the foggiest as to how long its is.

Anyone know what the distance is for a trigger pull to fire on the 1911 and various other models?
