Quoted for truth. (With the exception of JD I think)

That's a tad high for a Rock Island, IMO.

RIA 1911
Kimber Ultra Carry II

Looking for a SS model. Is there a cure?

IMHO, $500 for a new RIA Tactical is reasonable - way to much for a GI though...

para ordance P10 in 45acp ( cant remember exact model name but it was a subcompact 45 with a double stack 10 round mag for concealed carry
springfield armory 1911-A1

The first 1911 I ever owned was a Colt Mk IV series 70, nickel plated. She was a real beaut. I had that one about 1981-2, somewhere around there. Then I had a Colt Mk IV series 80, blue steel, she was nice too. In both cases, financial situations forced me to sell both pistols.

I've owned 2 OLD Firestorm 1911s, (from the old company in Spain that went belly up). They were ok, but, I wasn't really happy with them. I also had a Para Ordnance P13.45 and a P14.45. Again, financial situation, forced me to sell the Canadian pistols. .

Now I have this one, Rock Island Armory FS Tactical. Quality wise, I'd put this on par with just about any 1911 made today. She feeds hollow points like their going out of style. And the accuracy, well, I think the pistol is capable of better than I am. If it was in nickel, she'd be perfect.

Default 1911 Resume

Howdy to all 1911 folks. New to forum and will be reading this link quite often as I always want to learn more about our favorite firearm. We collect mostly military firearms and favor the 1911. Our current stable includes Colts, Springfield Armory (Sp. Mass) Remington UMC, Savage, Ithaca, Remington Rand, US&S, Norwegian 1914 and the Argentine. The oldest was manufactured in March 1912 and is a 3 digit and our newest was manufactured in 1950 and is also a 3 digit(LW4XX). As I said, I will be reading with great interest as I am always ready to learn something about these great firearms.
