My LGS runs a special before Christmas every year that they pay sales tax if you pay in cash, was 669. So I walked at 679 with a 10$ background check fee.

That's not a bad deal. I bought mine in August or September and mine was $650. The only thing i don't like is mine has the fiber optic front sight. i have the regular white dot sight but just haven't changed it yet.

Yea mine has the white dot novaks,I'm not find of three dot anything in anything but tritium, and even then I'd prefer hienie striaght eights. First thing I did was black out the rear dots. But it feels great,I like the balance of a commander better, this is my first full size 1911 but it feels like it would drop down on target easier and shoot a bit lighter than a shorter barrel gun

The gi from Rock island is shooting good. I only put 200 rounds through it so far but didn't have any issues. Awesome gun however I do need some more mags. Anyone gave any recommendations on mags to use or mags to avoid.

Well I'm one that will recommend Wilson combat mags. They are awesome. No matter what you can't go wrong with them.
