Ok here are before and after shots of my Girsan MC1911HC gen 1 mind you. After includes Wilson Combat Beavertail grip safety, Hammer and Trigger (all of which needed a little hand fitting to work properly) . Fusion white dot sights (were ordered as night sights lol machine work for Novak cuts was done by a buddy at work and front sight was loose upon install). EGW stainless grip screw bushings since i had to drill and tap for standard 1911 bushings for standard 1911 screws ( thanks to Limbkiller for loaning me the tap and drill bit ). Ed Brown allen head grip screws. Aluma Grips by Conrad at Gungrips.net. Thanks to all of you who helped with your info and any input and tools, which allowed me to do all this work myself except for the machine work.

Yes i know i could have gotten a more quality piece say a RIA, Kimber, Smith, maybe even a used Colt for what i put into this gun but then it wouldnt have been "mine" and i would have just had a gun like everyone else. This is my gun and I am proud of it and the knowledge i gained in making it so. :-)

How about another before and after?

Before

And after.

Sorry the flash on my camera sucks ass.

I stripped and cold blued it. Got a Wilson combat drop in beaver tail as well, a Smith and Wesson hammer, and a Swenson extended slide stop.

I'll tell you, the slide stop was ****. I started another thread on it. I don't really like the way the beaver tail leaves the gap, and the slide stop looked like it was pulled straight from the mold and hit with what passes for bluing in their factory. I stripped it down, and dressed it with my files. It had a lot of areas where the metal was just rough and unfinished looking, along the edges and on the flats, and even the grooves in the serrations were just ill defined. I fixed that.

I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. It's not perfect, but neither am I.

I also dressed the slide serrations with my files. They had quite a bit of scaling in the grooves from the factory.

Yeah my beavertail has a small gap but i figure its good enough for now just to keep me from getting hammer bit. But looks good, did you add the stampings on the slide? Cant see em on the slide in the first picture.

Yeah, I'm going to get a fitted one installed sometime soon. I also may go ahead and get it professionally finished, but I don't know...
The roll mark, I didn't do that. It stands out a little more with the blued finish, and the lighting quality is funky... But Springfield Armory did that.
