Cane, that's awesome....your Dad's handgun. My Dad was a WWII vet, too. Held POW by the Japanese for four years. He was my hero, too.

The older ones are REALLY hard to find. Even the new ones are hard to get.

be careful when buying vintage M1911A1...there are some fakes circulating. here in our country (philippines) there are many colt counterfeits made in someone's backyard. i mean, HOME MADE 1911s... i have photo of a fake 1911 that i bought for $20... it shoots good but of course, it is a fake. im glad i have a real colt commander now
