Mi have to say my gu expert us a real peach to shoot the trigger is crisp and have not had any jams if any kind put 500 thru it in one session without a hiccup.

As to the customisation part be careful and research the parts carefully I think there are certain mill spec parts that arent a straight drop in like most 1911s I'm not an expert on it cuz I'm a firm believer in if it's not broke..

Got the range today. Put about 200 rounds through it, no real probs. except sometimes, on the last shot the slide kinda half locks back. You gotta manually pull it back and lock it to drop the mag. Not sure bout that. Maybe more range time. Otherwise, it shoots just as good as we do, neither my wife nor I are marksmen yet.

I have been carrying my Springfield TRP on duty for a LONG!!! time. I use to own several 1911's ( Colt, S&W, SIG ) NONE of them campare with the TRP. It has had at least 12,000 - 15,000 rounds through it and has NEVER failed. The TRP was made from the same specs as the FBI's 1911 they tested. I think it was called the professional then. They fired 25,000 rounds through it NON-STOP and it held up. Now, you're going to pay a heavy price for the gun but when I am putting my a#% on the line I want something that I KNOW is going to continue to go "bang" until the fire fight is over. Another Deputy here carrys a Springfield Range Officer, I have shot it and it also is a very good 1911 at half the price of the TRP.

Added pink grips today. It's hard to tell in the pic, but they are dark pink not red. She loves it and loves shooting it. Now she wants to find some polish to match and color the markings.
