Default 1911 help

Hey everyone, I have a few questions and knew that someone on here will have me some answers. Here goes...

I recently acquired a Armscor 1911 9mm that has a double stack hi-cap magazine. I am having trouble finding a magazine for this weapon and was wanting some help from you guys. Also with this weapon, it is loose where the slide and the frame meet and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make everything fit just a bit tighter. I don't know too much about handguns and didn't know if a gunsmith could fix that or not.

The other question is this: Does anyone know when or if Taurus will be coming out with a Commander length 1911? I have been trying to find out for a while now and it seems no one knows or wants to talk about it. I really want another commander length 1911 and I want one really bad.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

I used to have an Armscor 9mm double-stack 1911 and it uses the same mags as a Para Ordnance P18. Check CDNN for extra mags. For the frame to slide fit, a gunsmith can tune that up for sure. As far as Taurus - they are legendary for vaporware...

Usually associated with programming (software) and usually means non existent software.

In this case I believe he means they advertise what they have yet to produce. A.K.A. nonexistent product.

The DO have some VERY nice concepts (24/7 in .45ACP has EXCELLENT concepts) with mediocre implementation.

That is exactly what I meant, I was a programmer for many years and vaporware was a common term...

Casey - Frame to slide finish can be fixed by a competent 1911 smith. Should take about 30 minutes and should run no more than minimum shop time for 1/hr. Usually $35-$80 depending on the shop.

Drats! that dastardly Dillinger beat me to it again! What they said. Tightening the slide/frame rails is an easy task for your local gunsmith. As to the commander length Taurus, I'd go with something else rather than wait a long time (possibly forever).
