I love 'em and I wish all my pistols had 'em, I mainly use them for a press check to make dead sure I got a round in the chamber, but I don't use them to chamber a round. I also think they look real cool, especially if there the fish scale type serrations like the new kimbers have, but that's just my opinion, and ya know what they say about those!

Bumping this because inquiring minds want to know.

I say no since Mr. Browning didn't design it that way

I had a Les Baer TRS. It was the tightest 1911 I ever had, but it had front serrations and I could never really warm up to it because of that.

I would love to have a lightweight Colt Commander, but the front serrations put me off.

Front serrations are like the loaded chamber indication on the Ruger SR9's and SR40's, unattractive and not all that useful.

Default nope don't care for them

I just had a 1911 built for me(Caspian Arms) when I was choosing the slide they offered the FS but like someone posted if JMB intended them to be there he would have designed it with front serrations. JMHO

Personal preference, I prefer no FSS, but sometimes a deal comes along with FSS and it can't be passed up.

It's not a deal if I have to turn around and spend the extra money I saved to replace the slide.

I just make do and it does not hamper the function of the gun in any way

I don't go out of my way for them, I don't use them, but it's not a dealbreaker either.
