I am looking at barrel links right now. I am ordering all of the slide parts now. What sized barrel link do I need? I don't really understand. Is there just one size fits all for the commander, or is it trial and error?

That is where I have been getting everything from and saw that there was many sizes available. My question is how do I know which one to get?

As long as the part has not been modified, Brownells will accept returns.
I would look at standard parts first. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=5322/Product/BARREL-LINK-STANDARD

What exactly is the best way to remove the thumb safety on a 1911? I can't seem to get it off now. I guess the last few times I did get it off was pure luck.

I use a thin piece of plastic to pry it up just enough to where it will wiggle out.

So I got the slide and everything else for it. What is the best way to fit the slide and the frame together? How does this series 80 thing work? I installed the spring and plunger piece to the firing pin safety, but where does the lever go? What is the best way to fit the sights on?
