1911 compact
 

I'm wanting a compact 1911. Price is somewhat an option. Anyone got any ideas for a nice dependable one. Springfield?

Well we need a price limit. I understand its a concern, but how much of one? $600, $700, $1000?

If it is in your price range I would recommend either the Kimber Ultra Raptor II, Colt New Agent or Colt Defender

colt defender/newagent are simply the best compact 1911 out there bar none.

i own a new agent it is 100% reliable feeds anything you stuff in it even empty cases. there arent many guns out there that will feed an empty case from the magazine. accuracy is superb. trigger is very good.

Gotta love the 1911 trigger.

I like the Kimber ultra carry. Very nice gun

I've always been impressed with the Springfield EMP if you want a 9mm. I haven't heard many good things about the 40.

i have a SA Loaded Micro Compact 45 that is simply awesome. accurate, reliable and feeds evrthing i have put through it. lightweight and compact with a 3" barrel. downside is, most of the compact 1911's are pricier than there full sized brothers. MSRP on mine was $1370, and i got it for $1299 out the door. some people have asked if it's worth what i paid for it? to me, yes, every penny! it's a great little pistol.

Rock Island compact.... Around 400.00 great gun i have 3 and can't be beat
