1911 buying info

Say I have $1200 to buy a 1911 whats the best gun to buy that is full sized and reliable. I want some ideas...

Everyone has their opinion and I am no different.....lol

I am personally quite smitten with Sig's. I have had my platinum elite for a month and have put 300 rounds through her. Not one issue no failure to feed, no failure to extract, no failure at all except it failed to disappoint me.

I like Colt, Springfield, and Sig in the $800-1200 range. Kimber also offers some attractive guns in that range, but their reputation seems to be taking a beating of late.

And below in my siggy, my Colt 1911 100 Year Anniversary Tier III - Model O1911ANVIII commemorative.

Idk why everyone is hating kimber but I was looking at the taurus pt 1911 they didn't look bad.... I had a kimber custom tactical 2 stolen but can't really afford 2 replace it. I honestly have about $800 or less to spend...

I could spend up to $1100 if I had to but I'm not looking to blow to much money. I would b happy with $800 or less.

Dam, you really need to set a price
Nobody can help you with that wide a margin & wishy washy wants :(

You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think that canebrake kinda likes Colts! ;)

I gotta say, I kinda like 'em too. :)

P.S. I missed the post which reduced it to $800. I bought a NIB Colt XSE for $850, including sales tax, but I think that may be a little low from what you'll usually see. Could probably get a used one for about $700 - $800.

Alot of happy RIA owners out there, i have a High Standard 1911A1 that is also made by Armscor, i paid $500 for it. Ive put 1,300rds through it and its performed flawlessly, best money ive EVER spent. You can also find the Sig, and Springfield in the mid $700-$800 range.
