How much money are we talking?
That is like saying what is the best sports car for the money?
Well, a Mustang/Camaro is good, a Corvette is great, but a Porsche Turbo with AWD can do a whole lot more.
If you can afford the Porsche, any of the former are going to be a let down.

There are a ton of platforms in the 1911 world that will come in under $1000.
I think your first thing to do would be list the features you want.
.45 caliber?
Full size or Commander model? (5" of 4.25")
Single side safety or ambi safety?
Steel frame and slide or aluminum frame and slide?
Night sights?
Carry model? Or home defense and drop leg holster SHTF gun?
US made or are "other" offerings of consideration?

No problem.
At the very core of your question, I think Taurus and RIA both make very good 1911's for the price they are charging, but neither is US made.

Nice. Thanks man. I am looking for American made through. Might just save up and get a colt. But, I'll research those models. Thanks again.

I have a Taurus, it had issues early on but has been 100% since being broken in, I'd recommend it among others if you decide it doesn't have to be U.S. made.
