Default 1911 In .38 Super

Hi guys,
Due to unfortunate circumstances, I will be moving into a house with no mortgage very soon, and taking care of my mom. My dad decided to set me up with his Desert Eagle, and as I wrote before I have my dream colt on lay away. However, my mom(and I so love her for this), says she will see to it that I have a fairly luxurious life(no to give you a sad story, but my life has been tough). So, she asked me what I wanted, I told her to collect and shoot guns! Of Course! I have loved guns my whole life. Ummmm......enough rambling. I have become intrigued with the idea of getting a 1911 chambered in a .38 Super(have the 45 coming and I like to experiment with different calibers), I wanted to get some info from you guys.

Who makes a good 1911 in .38 super?
Is the .38 super a good man stopper round?
Ammunition to avoid?

Check out this month's "Shooting Times" as there is an article on the 1911 in .38 Super. When I shot IPSC that was what all the best shooters used. Great round, but you'll probably have to reload...

I have had a S&W Custom Shop Doug Koenig edition in 38 Super for a few months and it is my second favorite handgun, and favorite handgun cartridge. My favorite handgun being the CZ75, if I could get one in 38 Super I would be in heaven.

We don't have .38Super on the shelves in normal retail stores here.

I have the RIA and enjoy it.

I have a few .38 Supers.
The .38 Super is an excellent round, very accurate with my reloads and is possibly my favourite cal. IMO the best value .38 Super is an STI Trojan.
