1911-22

I've got a new Chiappa Arms 1911-22(target model). Adjustble sights, optional muzzle brake etc.... I've only had time to run about 100 rounds through it, so I can't really tell how it's doing. Anybody else got one? What ammo should I go with/or avoid? Got rained out this week, so I have time for cleaning and reading.

Pics later.

Check the owner's manual to see if you should avoid Stingers. Their casing is longer than the other .22's and your firearm's chamber may not be cut for that.

Thanks

Funny, the one thing that is really sub-standard is their owner's manual. Barely covers operation. If I didn't know anything about 11's I would have been sunk. I do feel apprehensive about "copper-plated" rounds like Remington's Viper. The stuff flakes off, and I'm sure that eventually will cause problems. Well, looks like there's a break in the rain. Hope Wally-world is open. See ya....

I just bought an American Classic in the Chiappa. I had a few ftf's with it. I got some Winchester Wildcat and stingers and it operates beautifully. Never another problem. It will actually group as well as my favorite Ruger 22/45. gp45acp

1911-22 (sig)

Don't buy the SIG 1911-22. I bought one NEW today.
Put 30 rounds down the tube and the trigger jammed.
Gunshop could't fix it. back to SIG with only 30 rounds shot.
Never again.

Chiappa 1911-.22

I bought one of the first of them last summer and it has been flawless so far. My only minus is that mine doesn't have the target sights and the manual said to file the front sight down to get it on target. I plan on buying the target rear sight instead. I shoot W.W. Wildcat ammo. init most of the time with no problems

Chiappa 1911-22

The Wildcats were the first I used. They are OK. I had to see what else it liked. It seems that most 22 stuff comes in HiVel or Hyper-Vel. I found that WinSuprX/Pwr-Point's(X22LRPP) are really good. Accurate! The coating/jacket is pretty tough, and minimizes dents on feeding. Just bought a brick. Seems that I'm shooting my 45 and AR a little less these days.
