Default1911

I'm going to look at a Colt Mark 4 Series 70 1911 pistol that is supposedly in great condition. Any ideas on what that's worth? He's asking $1000. I'm thinking I can get a decent used S&W 1911 for around $800. Opinions?

I just paid exactly that amount for the same pistol last weekend at a show. I think I got a fair deal because it's in mint condition. If yours is in the same condition, I would say that's the going rate for that gun. It's a good investment....even though they made a lot of them, they're not making them any more. I'm sure that, in the long run, you would be much happier with the Colt than with the Smith. What's the finish?

$1000 is too much unless it comes with a bunch mags, ammo and other goodies. $800 is reasonable but I would start lower. Good luck with that.

It seems high to me. I think around $700.-$800. is more appropriate as well.

Remember, this is a COLT 1911, not a Glock Still better off than paying $800 for a used S&W.

I think $800 is a good deal for some used smith 1911's.

Gee thanks. $800 would be a good price for several smith 1911's, such as these. If you don't think so, think again.

Smith & Wesson 7 + 1 Round 45 ACP w/4.25" Barrel/Two Tone Fi for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $963.00

Smith & Wesson M1911 .45 Acp 5" Performance Center for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $1,870.00

Smith & Wesson SW1911 .45acp 5" Stainless, Novak Sight, CT for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $983.00

Smith & Wesson SW1911 170257 38SUP AS 2TN PFMCTR for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $1,783.00

I could go on. Don't let your bias cloud your judgement.

Touche. I'll have to get me one of those Smiths but, for that kind of money, I'll go with another Colt!
