Default 10 MM to 40 Conversions

Ok here is the big question. I am getting a Delta Elite in 10 MM. Can I get a 40 cal barrel and Mag and maybe change the recoil spring and convert it to a 40 Cal. for a day,??? Please let me know if anyone out there has any knowledge of this.
Thanks
Hogslayer

Seems like a lot of expense and effort for just one day of shooting.

Ok I might have lied about the for a day thing. I want a 1911 in every cal I can get it in. So far I have 22, 9MM, 45 Acp and now 10 MM. As far as I know that only leaves 40 and 38 super. Trying to fit it into the budget. With out buying 2 more guns.

I have a Dan Wesson 1911 10mm. I change the barrel and recoil spring and and shoot 40 cal reliably. It feeds perfectly off the 10mm magazine. You might have to get a 40 cal magazine for yours.

Sorry, but a 1911 will not hold the 45 Win Mag or .50 AE. The .460? sure. How about .50 GI? .38 AMU? 9 X 23? 9 X 21? 9 X 25? .38 Super Comp? .38 TJ? There is bound to be one in .357 Sig.

Ok what i should have said was in the MOST common cals. And the 357 Sig is real hard to reload for..... so I will rule that one out also. But there is always room for
one more cal.

Not reloading for one of the most effective manstopper rounds made seems to be a waste. In ten years of real life shooting data, the .357 magnum and .357 Sig have been found to be very effective at incapacitation and one-shot stops. Review the 10-year study of actual shootings here:

http://www.buckeyefirearms.org/handgun-stopping-power

However, cost of ammo is the most often given excuse for police departments not adopting the .357 Sig as a duty sidearm. If only one huge department would adopt it, the cost would plummet to at least as cheap as .40!
