Then you havent held a truelly good 1911 like a nighthawk, dan wesson, colt gcs-anything after 2003 is amazing.

If my new g23 3rd gen is taken away from me, the I would stick with my sa 1911 loaded. Feels good, shoots Great, easy to clean, reliable, just like they used in ww 1 ww 2. I mean these
Guys had the g.i. Model with earliest gens and had debri, salt water, sand, all kinda crap and still relied on it as second hand.

If I couldn't have my G-17, I'd have to revert back to my XD-45 or Colt 1911.. But now for downright good'ole stopping power, I'd hae to rely on my DE in .50 AE

Thats why i prefer a 1911. They have the history and the capabilities.
