Will a glock 19 magazine fit into a glock 17??

Will a 15 round glock 19 magazine fit into a full size framed glock 17?

Glock magazines are "one-way" interchangeable between models, meaning that a compact or subcompact pistol will accept magazines designed for the larger pistols chambered for the same round. However, magazines designed for compact and subcompact models will not function in larger pistols because they are not tall enough to reach the slide and magazine release. For example, the subcompact Glock 26 will accept magazines from both the full-size Glock 17 and the compact Glock 19, but the Glock 17 will not accept magazines from the smaller Glock 19 or the Glock 26.

No, the G19 magazine is to short. A G17 magazine will fit into a G19 though

Not unless you cut your grip down. Most folks don't have the guts or the loose screws to do that though.

I did, and like the results.

As you can see. The grip frame has been shortened just enough to let a 19 mag fit just about flush. A bit of the backstrap of the grip was retained to help give the flush fit look to it. The grip was then stippled to add traction (it gets really hot and humid down here, and a grippy surface is important).

A lot of folks don't like what I did to this Glock, but most folks who shoot it, end up liking it.

Thats pretty awesome how did you do that?? :D I own a glock 17 and I would like some spare mags but the glock 19 mags are usually on sale at my gunstore what tools did you use to do this? Can you still wrap your fingers around it without the pinky stiking out? How do you like it?

I went really slow.

I took a G19 and measured the grip length. Then cut mine a bit longer than that with a hack saw. I left extra material so I could square things up and then slowly file the grip down far enough that the mag would lock in place, then shortened it just a bit more so that the mag would go to lock without having to slam it in place. Then I took the file and beveled the edges of the mag well. The stippling was done with a soldering iron. There are videos and web sites that give you the basics. I practiced on the bit of grip that I cut off to figure out how deep I wanted the stippling to go (mine is actually very shallow on the sides and deeper on the front strap).

Again I say look at pics on the web. Decide what you want yours to look like and go slow. It is fairly easy to remove material, but it is really hard to put it back if you take too much off. Plan on this taking hours (it doesn't have to, but you don't want to be in a hurry when you do this, or you will rush and screw up.) If you start to get impatient, then it's time to put the tools away and come back and finish later.

How do you own a 17 when you aren't even 18 yet?
