Default At what distance should i sight in a laser sight on a glock 19?

The glock 19 will be used for home defense my stepdad and me mounted a laser onto it the laser was co witnessing with the the sight but noticed the red dot moves as you get closer to a wall. What would be the best distance for home defense/ carry defense?

7 meters (15 feet)
Because unless you have a huge house you will more than likely come into contact with the individual pretty close.

7 meters? or 15 feet?

7 meters is more like 23 feet & 15 feet is more like 4.5 meters.

Damn metric system

Set it to 21 feet, most lasers from the factory on new guns that come with lasers are set to that distance. Between 5 to 21 feet you will hit anything it is pointed at.

Check to see what distance you can hold it fairly steady.

If you have more than 4" of dot movement at 21 feet, then I would suggest more practice with hold and shooting with open sights.

I agree with the above posts but remember that the laser isn't a surgeons scalpel. It will never be as precise as proper sight alignment and a good trigger pull. I only have a laser on my LC9 because that's my "get off" gun and the laser will keep me from shooting my own hand if I have to keep the BG off me.
