Well a lot of thought went into that! See, I told you it's an impossible question.

This response hopefully does not start a fiasco....I would take my trusted g17. Yea yea I know you 9mm haters think I'm stupid. I've never owned a more reliable handgun. And IT WILL STOP SOMEONE ( even though you might have to fire off another round ) I know I can grab it and its going to shoot now matter what.

I love my Ruger SR9. 17+1 in 9mm +P ammunition could go a long way, and if it doesn't go far enough Ruger provided a second mag! If I lost it though I would steal my buddies G23 Gen 4. Lot of great weapons systems out there. I love the ergos of a 1911, but I also prefer to have a lot of chances to hit something, stress can make it hard to make 7 shots count in multi offender contact situations!

I think I would have to go with my M&P 40 Pro. I have a 357sig barrel & a 9mm conversion barrel & mags so I can shoot 3 different calibers through it, so it is like having three guns. Yeah, I know I should have gone with something a little more upscale, but I don't own any of those guns yet, so I'm not too familiar with which one to choose. I go with what I know...
