Hi guys,I just bought a new od green g26 a couple of days ago to go with my g19.Took it home, detail stripped and a little miltec and it was off to the range.I shot all kinds of ammo, wwb, ranger, gold dots and it was just like my 19 every time I pulled the trigger it went bang,HOHum,no ftes, noftf's.not a problem in 200 rounds. This will be my summer ccw as the 19 is just a little too big,I'm a small guy.So you can say I'm sold on glocks.sj

I haven't decided between the G26, G30, and G36 yet. I'll have to try them out at my local gun range before deciding what I'm going to buy for my primary concealed carry. Right now I own a G23 for home defense, loaded with Federal Tactical JHP's 180gr.

I read a great article about .45 ACP vs. 9mm.

9mm vs

His conclusion is that there is no obvious difference in take-down power between the 2 calibers. MY conclusion after that is I'll be buying a G19 before I get a G30 (my first choice based on the adage ".45 MUST be better than 9mm at one-shot stop). The extra 5 rounds makes the decision for me, if there isn't a great difference in calibers. In fact 15 rounds in the G19 is a LOT more comforting than the 7 rounds in the G36, if the difference in take-down power is so comparable.

Something to think about. The article even made up my mind against the .40 caliber weapons (at least for my first CCW semi-auto), especially considering the increased cost and decreased availability of .40 ammo these days.
