Trueast,
The Clock 23 is a fine weapon and quite frankly I prefer it over the 9mm for personal protection. The 40 S&W is a good round! I carried a Model 22 which is the full size version on duty for years also a 40 S&W Cal. I was given it at retirement and still have it. But carry my Model 27 the compact version most of the time for concealed carry when it is cool enough to wear heavier normal clothing or a jacket. Good Choice! Ammo is a little more expensive than a lot of 9mm but a great caliber it is!! NICE PIECE YOU HAVE THERE! CONGRATULATIONS! :) 03 |
I just got a G22. You should love it, and .40 cal is actually easier to find in my neck of the woods than 9mm these days.

Yep i can find 40 at any of the local shops for pretty cheap. I had a g23 before and I liked it a lot but ended up trading this one however wont be going anywhere

I love my g23. In fact I love the .40s&w round so much I got my wife a g27. That is the gen 4 in the pic right?? Also ours are both black but I like the odg.

Congrats. I'm sure you won't be sorry. I have had a 22 and 27 for years, both gen 3. A 35 is likely my next purchase. I would start looking for magazines ASAP if I were you. Remember the 22 mags will also fit your 23. Enjoy.

This one is a gen 3, gen 4 would have been nice with a 3rd mag :)

I had a G22, 1st gen, years ago, but in a time of severe financial anemia I had to sell it. Of all the pistols I've owned--I'm more a revolver guy, but have owned more pistols than wheelers--the .40 Glock was the only one that never, ever hiccuped. I loved that gun, but now live on a very small fixed income and can't replace it.
To me it looked, in terms of ballistics figures and history in actual shootings involving LEO's, as if the .40 S&W combined the best features of 9mm and .45 ACP. If I could buy a 23 I damn sure would. I think you'll like yours a lot. |
