My first Glock

I have been going back and forth about getting the Glock 23 and last Friday finally bit the bullet (for lack of better term) and bought a Gen4. The unit feels so natural when held and for me is more accurate then any other piece I own. I've heard a few negative reviews on the spring and jams, can anyone verify?

When the gen4 first came out they had some problems with the guide rod. They have been worked out. All gen4 glocks made before July 22 2011 exept the g26 and g27 have had a parts recall. Just send it in and glock will fix it for free.

Just for the spring right? I think they will mail the part to your house, but I may be mistaken.

I will have to look at the paperwork to see when it was made and go from there.
On another note, for as big as the unit is, it's shockingly a great carry piece. Very comfortable on the hip...
Thanks for the info...

I am looking at getting a Gen4 27, already have a gen3 19.

A lot of people hate on them, but I shoot a Glock better than I do any other handgun (wish I knew why).

Congrats on the purchase.

I'll lay my money on grip angle. Glock determined their grip angle based of several thousand folks hands, that's why when people say Glock has bad ergonomics I just laugh a little .

Congrats on your first Glock. I love both of mine but have to admit after messing around with a XDs I had to get one. Now it is my carry weapon of choice.

I think it has a lot to do with trigger travel. I have a Ruger LC9 and its a nice "defense" piece however I'm no where near as accurate as I am with my 23 and I believe the reason is because to fire the LC9, there is SO much travel before it fires. Its smooth and consistent but long. The Glocks on the other hand, have very little trigger travel compared to my Ruger which allows me to keep a steadier hand.
A friend of mine let me shoot his S&W40, it's not nearly as nice as the G23.

The attacked was with a G23 from 25 feet and a full magazine.

This was with an LC9 at same distance.

I picked one up a few months ago. I've put about 1500 rounds through it and haven't had any problems. I've used a healthy mix of ammo as well.

Whoever pointed you to Glock, they're right. I had problems with a 22 and they fixed it up quickly.
