I cant echo these statements enough. you bought a gun, NEVER LEFT THE STORE, and it broke IMMEDIATELY upon firing it. you didn't even get a full mag through it.
if that store is so hard up for money that they're going to snub their noses at you, their customer, then it's time for you to go elsewhere.
here's what that gunstore SHOULD have done:
"damn, that sucks man! we are so sorry that happened...here, let me get you another one out of inventory and I'll take that one back...let me deal with the glock warranty"
or, if they had no more in stock:
"damn, that sucks man! we are so sorry that happened...I apologize, but I don't have any more in stock, would you like me to handle the glock warranty work for you, or would you like a full refund...or would you like to look at another firearm that we do have?"
I would spread the word around town to as many people as you can, post it up on armslist for the fellow gun owners in your area to see that the store is one to avoid, since their customer loyalty only lasts until they have your dollar in their cash drawer.
