I live in Alabama but I have had very good luck finding stuff at Whitaker Guns out of Kentucky and they do ship to your local dealer of choice. They have a facebook page and have some of their stock updated on the page for the hard to find stuff. Otherwise you can just send them a message and they respond pretty quickly as to whether or not they have it in stock. AND they sell all their stuff at pre panic prices. I have ordered 3 firearms from them so far and have been very pleased.

Now the real problem: WHERE CAN WE FIND ONE?? I am posting on the forums i visit and participate in, hoping that someone can let me know if they saw one laying at a shop in Colorado or online without the dreaded "out of stock" phrase..

Let me know and thanks!

(and I didn't post this to be laughed at, I know I'm asking the impossible, so please keep digs and such to yourself, thanks)
I'm curious why you both think the G19 is the right choice? Right Now?

Not knocking the gun but anything "High Cap" is going for a premium these days so he's going to pay a "premium" for anything in the "high" capacity market.

In my neck of the wood... single stack autos and revolvers have not really jumped in price and are actually available. Kahr has several models that can be had new for under $500.00 and for the "current" cost of a G19... he could probably get into a decent 1911.

Just something to think about... Hate to see you help the guy and wind up with him pissed at you after all this blow over because he "overpaid" for a High Cap.

Tack

I hear you. Its just the best choice for him for a number of reasons. I did warn him that he'd be paying a premium price if he bought right now. He doesn't care, just wants it NOW lol.

Well... If he want's it he want's it... Right.

Please do your part for the "new" gun guy and steer in the right direction for some formal training.

Worse than him being pissed for overpaying... is his wife being pissed because you "helped" him put a bullet through something he didn't intent to...

Tack

Keep an eye on armslist, I've seen a few lightly used ones on there going for good prices

Shows out of stock on their page, do you know for a fact that they have them?

They are readily available in Florida. Google Florida gun store. Call, whoever is the most helpful buy from them. All the prices should be around the same. Any FFL can ship to another FFL in a different state. Simply go down to your LGS and pick it up. You could google for any other state as well.

Also, if your friend is going to be CCing the G19 think about the Gen3. IMO, the polymids on the Gen4 do feel better in my hand, but they get held up too much on my clothing. I EDC a G19 Gen3 in an IWB. If he is open carrying I don't see an issue. You can replace the mag catch for a bigger one in the Gen3, if he doesn't need the diff back strap sizes the only real diff is the polymids on the grip. Good luck.
