Sooooo, are you going to go out and bury all your guns? Those torture test are stupid! In what kind of normal everyday civilian situation will you find your firearm buried in dirt or frozen in a block of ice?

I don't shoot, carry and work with my Glock enough to know if it's reliable. Also, Glocks are still kinda a new gun in town.
However, I am impressed with the service history of the 1911.

I have fired hundreds (if not in the thousands) of reloads in the Glock, no problem, I've burned boxes on factory, ditto.. I still don't like it's grip or trigger.
It gets an occasional trip to the range as a 'guest' gun. Some new shooters like the 9mm over my 1911 .45 acp.

I think there are many 'reliable' guns that have better grip fit and trigger function.
I wouldn't hesitate using it if need be, but I don't enjoy it.

Is it a good gun. Sure. Is it perfection? Far from it.
