Holster...best/safest?
Hey folks...looking for your input. Im looking for an open carry holster for my g22. Ive checked out serpas but im a little worried about the trigger retention system as I have heard horror stories of accidental misfires when drawing the weapon. Any suggestions on the best/safest holsters. Thanks!

What I do in 20 plus years of Glock use, is put a trigger block safety on the Glock before I holster it.
Some say that is not necessary. Maybe so, but in 20 plus years, it has worked well for me. Having an external safety on my Glock is a blessing to me. |
I have a glock 23 and use a Serpa while hunting. I will buy another for my Glock 20 I like the holster so much.

I carry a glock 22 in a serpa, practice drawing and reholstering from retention at the range all the time. Keep your booger picker off the trigger and you won't take a knee out.

I use a serpa holster with my g22. I don't think that the holster design is dangerous, when you draw your pistol keep your finger off the trigger. Like any holster, you should practice drawing safely. The serpa is very comfortable and I would highly recommend.

I carry my G35 in a N82 pro tactical IWB, but I also have a Blackhawk Serpa OWB. They both great holsters! My N82 is very, very confortable.

My agency tested the crap out of holsters, both for uniform and plain clothes carry. The only one that passed muster for plain clothes use was the Safariland ALS holsters (Product numbers: 6377 Belt, 6378 Paddle or 6379 Tek-Lok). They are very fast, very secure, ultra durable and not unsafe like some people believe the Serpa holsters to be (myself included). The Fobus is okay for range use but not much else. The Fobus never made the test list but the Serpa was taken out of contention early on after we were able to jam the mechanism with little effort. I highly recommend you check out the 6377. And by the way you can buy adjustment kits that let you customize them for your style of carry and draw.

Fobus if you carry Israeli style. Meaning you know how to chamber on the draw.
