They can, but it requires the purchase of a threaded barrel and a suppressor. It is illegal to posses a suppressor or "silencer" in many states and in the states that allow them, you are required to fill out BATFE paperwork and purchase a $200 tax stamp.

Just a friendly FYI, coming in and asking a question of dubious legality right off the bat suggests that you're a troll, a kid or someone up to something illegal. It just doesn't look good, especially when there are grammatical and spelling errors in your post.

We're an online community that supports the lawful use of firearms for recreation and self defense, we're not a bunch of neo-nazi gun nuts that are going to offer to sell you the parts that you're looking for. If that was your intent, you need to go elsewhere. If not, welcome and enjoy the forum.

Default ya

In most states silencers are illegal. Also, I've heard that if an individual is seen in public with a silencer on your firearm, whether its accidental or intentional especially in a state that does not permit it, the consequences would be automatic LIFE in prison. But, I am not 100 % sure that is correct. Oh well.

Pay the extra $200 bucks for the tax stamp, and you'll be fine!

Maine,

This will give you an idea of that, 'tax' you've got to pay if you want to legally own a silencer. (I know many shooters who do!)

National Firearms Act of 1934
