Default Grip plug

Hey guys
I got a glock 30 and I wanted a grip plug for it. I ordered pierce brand and it just won't stay in. Is there a better one?

Jentra makes grip plugs for Glocks. Just make sure you order for the G30. And do not get the mini plug.

Seeing your question made me curious. I read on another forum that Glock doesn't recommend them - something about collecting dirt/dust and not allowing it to fall free. Since I'm a Glock fan, I e-mailed them to confirm and will post back with what they say.

Glock plugs are really a matter of personal preference. Some argue against them for reasons of debris retention. Others, including Larry Vickers, argue for them postulating the plug keeps debris out of the pistol.

Some argue against them for magazine rips in the event of a failure to drop free. Others say that's not an issue in the real world.

I believe the open channel exists to simplify the manufacturing process as well as facilitating a snap-in shoulder stock to enhance the efficacy of the full auto version Glocks.

Plug it or don't plug it. Just shoot the sh!t out of it at every opportunity

Ditto that! I'm always amazed at how much controversy revolves around something as simple as the grip plug. (that and gun oil of course)

Default Grip plug

The open gap does in fact have have a purpose. As originally designed is was to help allow the shooter to grasp and rip "NON drop free" mags out of the magwell when still partially loaded.

First thing I ever bought for my Glock was a grip plug; for absolutely no useful purpose years ago other than to cover up the hole up for looks. Pretty weak argument for buying the plug but its what I did
