I tried out the glockworx recoil springs in my G35, The red one is 14lbs and is the recommended one for 40 S&W. The gun ran fine in the 50 rounds that i have shot with it so far. I noticed what i felt was a lot of red paint left from the spring and i was wondering if anyone else had any experiences with this.
Yeah i know the stock spring is fine, that isnt what this thread is about.
My M&P 40c came with a painted spring and the takedown latch was also painted. It all wears off after a few range visits and cleanings. Not sure why they paint moving internal parts, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything.
Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. My rod is a GLOCK and it comforts me
I am just gonna take a stab at the reason the springs are painted. Different Spring weights require some way to ID them at a glance, thus the painted colors. Residue from the springs left behind will not hinder performance.
