maybe you haven't been around as many guns as you say, if you have never seen one blown up. i have seen a few in my lifetime as well.

3 for me, but two were Uncle Sammy's property: an older M-60 barrel that was in the middle of shooting somewhere north of 18,000 rds., and was beyond Red hot, someone who tried to Frag a certain NCO with an 81MM mortar round,....and some Idiot Hunter in the Adks when I was a Teen, and helping my Uncle and Cousins with a Semi-Guided hunt on our land near Shroon Lake( I'm sure WF38 & KFox both know where that is,..maybe Vincine as well....)..

The closest I have ever come to a failure was a split on the end of a shotgun barrel. We were shooting skeet. There is no telling how long the barrel had been cracked or split. Kind of hard to split a barrel with a field load, standing on concrete.

The warnings are for older firearms. Newer firearms are not a problem. What's the def of "newer?" Check with the manufacturer.

My personal thoughts on this are that the frames will handle .40 & .357 SIG, so +p+ should be good. The barrel is the only place I would worry. Especially if it's a factory glock barrel that isn't fully supported.

Gentlemen- when anyone resurrects a zombie thread that has been dead for more than a year, our tradition here is that they go stand on their front lawn, and sing happy birthday to the thread.

Card and cake are optional.......
